Reaction of Loyalist Colonists

They started to realize that finally, action had been taken into hands to declare independence                        

Were frightened of being abused and harassed by patriotic peers since Tories had been persecuted by Patriots, especially radical groups like the Sons of Liberty                                                             

Outraged when radical Patriots tried to take away their rights

Rebelled even more against colonists who supported declaring independence

Decided to take the side of Britain's army, helping them  providing food and shelter for the soldiers

Immediately sought protection from Britain
